Lucky Pete's Cafe and Bar

Not only is Pete a friendly chap, he runs an excellent bar and restaurant. Excellent service and food. We had the fish & chips and garden salad which were both delicious. Thanks Pete! See you next time we are back in Hakuba.

Great place to chill, have a beer, burger, chicken karaage or fab green salad (even if it’s snowing outside!). Love the phone charging station and free wifi. Great layover if waiting for your bus or train or just to people watch!

We got off the bus, really didn't know where to go and ended up stumbling into the bar. This was a great experience all in all, picture an Australian owner who really cared about his guests and really wanted to help in any way. Well that's what we got. We stroll in, snowboard movies playing in the background and the smell of fresh pizza smells. We had no idea how to get to our hotel and it was in the middle of no where... The owner called us a cab and even helped us load our boards. Definitely a great first experience if you want to a quick bite. Also, he was able to give us several guide recommendations for out of bounds experienced. Great stop and definitely recommend!

Tasty burgers and friendly staff

Came here during our trip to the Hakuba Mountains, the establishment is very nice along with the staff and the food was absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend coming here for a feed and a beer!

My sister and I stopped by to have a quick bite and a beer, while walking around Hakuba. The cafe is in the train station plaza. I forgot to take a picture of the outside. We had a supreme pizza which was very tasty. Had a couple tasty beers with the pizza. The man in the photo is Lucky Pete. Pete had some great stories and some great insite on the valley. He also says his drinks are strong, although we only had beer at the time. Thanks for the great time Pete!!

Quiet nice place with several beer, pizza and burger options. I only missed in the menu a couple of more healthy options but overall is a great place to stop by and have lunch or dine

The Bar's new owners are great, an Australian gentleman and a local lass. Had a great chat over lunch and they recommended all the local hotspots to visit. Definitely going back for a meal or couple of drinks next time I'm in Hakuba 👌

My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Pete's Cafe and Bar! The pizzas were awesome, the place has a cool vibe and most importantly - we loved Pete himself, what a guy! He's super knowledgeable, incredibly friendly and welcoming. Definitely visit, you'll love it!

Pete's downright the best. Great advise, super helpful, and a joy to talk to while havin' a pint and chowin down some good food. Very highly recommend. If I end up back in Hakuba, you'll find me at least once back at Lucky Pete's for sure.

The food is amazing & the employees are extremely nice. They have both English and Japanese menus. I highly recommend even just dropping by, the owner is lively to talk to.

No better place to hang out and have a nice Hakuba Brew local beer with a burger and some chips. Great for pre-ski, post-ski, or if you’re snagging a train or bus out of/into the JR Station. The owner, Lucky Pete himself (English and Japanese speaking Aussie), is a fantastic guy and has tons of insight into the town as he’s been there over 10 years now. Would highly recommend you stop over on your way in if you just get off the bus in the station, and just pick Pete’s brain for some insight into what to do and where to go while you await a taxi or whatever it is. Also free WiFi is a great plus.

What a great burger! And it was reasonably priced as well! Worth the stop!!! WiFi is only if you purchase food, so don’t be an ass and expect free WiFi if you are not willing to support the business!
